Theatre - Bish Bash Bosh – Tin Violin

11th July 2012

The life of the violinist and composer Joseph Emidy is one of the most extraordinary of modern times. Emidy was first captured as a slave by the Portuguese,
then kidnapped by the British Navy, serving as a fiddler on The Indefatigable during the French wars. Landing at Falmouth, Cornwall and being presented with a magical tin violin made by an illiterate miner, Emidy became a musical genius of the early nineteenth century.

Set against the stunning backdrop of ancient rhododendrons, the audience is invited to bring a picnic, share a glass of wine and sit back to enjoy the show in the magical atmosphere of Heligan.

Gates open 6:30pm – performance starts 7:30pm

Adult £12, Concession £10, Child £6. Tickets available from Heligan Reception (01726 845100) and Hall for Cornwall (01872 262465) www.hallforcornwall.co.uk from 11th June 2012
