Lost Supper: Burns Night

Start the evening with a Heligan welcome cocktail, followed by a five-course tasting menu brought to you by the Kitchen Team. Featuring the finest homegrown heritage produce and Heligan rare breed meats, dine in style just 157 yards from the Productive Gardens. The menu is created especially for each Lost Supper and will include some traditional fayre alongside our own Cornish ‘hoggis’, one not to be missed!

There will be a dram of whiskey for toasts along with pageantry, pipers and poems to celebrate Robbie Burns.

What is a Lost Supper?

Lost Suppers are about connections, the connection between people, the soil, the planet and food. In the current climate it’s never been more important to talk about food miles and eating from the land has always been the way at Heligan, that’s what it was built for.

The Kitchen Garden sits just 157 yards from the kitchen and grows around 4.5 tonnes of vegetables and fruit per year. Home Farm hosts an array of rare breeds and provides a small supply of meat each year. None of this could ever be enough to feed all our visitors but here we are celebrating the fruits of our labour in innovative and sometimes surprising ways.

The menu is never published beforehand as it is written after the gardeners have listed what’s available or what’s in season, which makes it completely ingredient led and 5 out of 7 courses will always be vegetarian.

Our Lost Suppers will be held within the Heligan Kitchen & Conservatory. Doors will open at 6:30pm with a welcome drink for all upon arrival.
