Heligan visitors raise over £5000 for charity
- 5th Jan 2016
We would like to thank our festive visitors who raised over £5000 as we opened our gates for charity on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Over 2700 visitor came to walk off the festive excesses and enjoy a winter walk through our 200 acre estate. Despite the weather, our annual charity days proved as popular as ever with the local community beating previous December records.
Further donations were also received during our magical Cornish Christmas Nights which also attracted record visitor numbers.
Heligan visitors raised an incredible £5,392.07 which will be shared between local charities - People and Gardens, Cornwall Hospice Care, St Petroc’s Society and Cornwall Air Ambulance.
Susie Croft, head of income generation for Cornwall Air Ambulance said: “We are extremely grateful to the staff and visitors of The Lost Gardens of Heligan for another year of outstanding support. Over the years they have collected more than £20,000 for Cornwall Air Ambulance which has enabled over 100 hours of fuel for our lifesaving missions throughout the county.”
