Heligan Visitors Raise over £7000 for Local Charities

We would like to thank our Festive visitors, who helped us raise over £7000 Boxing Day and New Year’s Day for our annual charity days.

Across the two days we welcomed over 3000 visitors, who came to walk off the festive excesses, blow away the cobwebs and enjoy a winter stroll through the historic 200 acre estate with their friends and families. Despite the stormy conditions on Boxing Day, these annual charity days proved as popular as ever with the local community and the atmosphere created in the gardens over these charity days was the epitome of generosity, it really was ‘the season for giving’.

George Elworthy, managing director of The Lost Gardens of Heligan said, “We would like to thank all our visitors and staff who have given so generously on our charity days. We know how much the fundraising means to all the charities and we are delighted to help raise the profile of the wonderful work they all do.”

Our visitors raised an incredible £7026.48 which will be shared equally between the chosen local charities - Cornwall Air Ambulance, Cornwall Blood Bikes, Beth's Inspiration and People and Gardens.

“We would like to express our sincere thanks to all the team at The Lost Gardens of Heligan for choosing to support our charity and the welcome we received from staff and visitors.

Our volunteers had a fantastic couple of days meeting some very special people at the gardens.

The incredible amount raised will go a long way in helping our charity provide our service to the hospitals and hospices throughout Cornwall.

Without the help and support from organisations like The Lost Gardens we could not do what we do.”
