The Lost Gardens inspire new Seasalt fashion collection
- 19th Aug 2013
The design team at Seasalt were so inspired by The Lost Gardens Of Heligan and neighbouring fishing port, Mevagissey, that they have designed a range of clothing for the Cornish lifestyle – that reflects the natural beauty of the area.
The collection captures the working gardens of Heligan with its exotic plants, dusty potting sheds, terracotta plant pots and hidden corners alongside the village of Mevagissey with it sun bleached sails and vibrants fishing boats.
The clothes, scarves and accessories feature Heligan inspired unique prints including The Lost Garden – a creative twinning of flowers and leaves that reflects the beauty of the Lost Valley – and Garden Plan, a pretty grid-like pattern based on the shape of the Productive Gardens.
One of Seasalt’s Design team, Laura Watson, was brought up in the area and so knew of Heligan and Mevagissey. “In fact Laura’s parents still live in the area - so it was no surprise to us that we would design a range that reflects the incredible atmosphere that surrounds Heligan and Mevagissey,” said Seasalt Creative Director, Neil Chadwick.
"It's fantastic for Cornish brands to work together to bring to life the beauty and magic of Cornwall in different ways. Seasalt is a brilliant Cornish fashion brand that captures the Cornish lifestyle perfectly. We're proud to collaborate to showcase the beauty of Heligan in the new Seasalt collection." said George Elworthy, Managing Director
The new Seasalt – Lost Gardens of Heligan Collection is now on sale at Heligan, in Seasalt stores or at www.seasaltcornwall.co.uk
